South Shore Academy | Open Morning Tours 2026

We are inviting Year 5 and Year 6 families to join us for one of our Open Morning Tours. There will be no special displays or lessons prepared for your visit. You will see South Shore Academy as our pupils experience it every day. What will you see? Please arrive at 8:15am, ready for the tour to begin at 8:30am. During your visit, you will: • See our pupils arrive at school and prepare for the day ahead • Visit our Morning Meetings and see how our year groups start their day • See pupils move calmly and purposefully around the school between activities and lessons • Visit Period 1 lessons • See teaching and learning taking place across the academy • Meet members of our staff and ask questions about life at South Shore Academy The tour will finish at approximately 9:30am. Who can attend? Our Open Morning Tours are for families considering South Shore Academy for their child's secondary education. Year 5 and Year 6 families are very welcome. You do not need to bring your child with you. Parents and carers are very welcome to attend on their own. Each family can book a maximum of 3 places. As you will be visiting classrooms while lessons are taking place, we are unfortunately unable to accommodate younger children on our morning tours. This helps us avoid disrupting learning for our pupils. Can't make one of our tour dates? We appreciate that our scheduled morning tours will not work for every family. Open Evening is a chance to explore the academy, meet our pupils and staff, visit different subject areas and hear more about the future of South Shore Academy. Our Open Morning Tours offer something different: the opportunity to come back and see our school in action during a normal working day. You are very welcome to attend both.
