Bring new life to your dining room chair in this friendly two-day upcycling & upholstery workshop with Rachel an experienced upholsterer. About the workshop Bring new life to your dining room chair in this friendly two-day upcycling & upholstery workshop. You will learn practical skills for transforming your chair, including how to strip it, repaint the frame, and re-upholster the seat cushion. Who is it for? No previous upholstery or restoration experience is needed. This relaxed weekend workshop is designed for complete beginners and is all about learning new skills in a fun, supportive setting. Painting your chair You will use bright, bold colours to repaint and refresh your chair frame. If you have a particular colour in mind, please discuss it with Rachel before the session. Choosing fabric Rachel will have a selection of fabrics available to purchase, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Please email Rachel before the workshop so she can advise you on the quantity and type of fabric you will need. What is included? All essential sundries are included in the price, including foam, wadding, staples, tacks, calico, and paint. You will need to bring your own chair (similar to the ones in the images) Before the workshop Once you have booked your place, please email Rachel at [email protected] with images of your chair so she can discuss your project with you before the session. Refreshments and lunch Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be available throughout the weekend. Please bring lunch with you, as the café is not open at weekends. Location Coda Music & Arts Trust, Chewton Farm Road, Walkford BH23 5QL. Studio 7 is in the Stables part of the building where there is also a delightful café and gallery space. Coda is at the opposite end of Chewton Farm Road to the Chewton Glen Hotel. When you turn into the property drive past the meadow on the left and around the building and black barn on the right. This will gain you access to the main carpark in the centre courtyard of the building. The entrance to Studio 7 is at the end of the Stables nearest the black barn (near where you have just driven in).
