Creative Textile Collage: Design Your Own Fabric Artwork

A three week course developing collage skills using a mix of textiles and hand stitches to create your own unique art piece. About the workshop Over the three weeks you will create your own unique textile art piece using fabric collage and hand stitching. Rachel will teach you how to choose, arrange, and layer fabrics, using a variety of collage techniques to build a design that is entirely your own. A creative and mindful experience This relaxing and therapeutic course is designed to be both creative and mindful. You will work with a wide selection of fabrics from around the world, guided by Rachel’s knowledge and experience in creating eye-catching textile-inspired artwork. What is included? All materials are provided, although you are welcome to bring your own fabrics if you would like to include something personal in your piece. What to bring If you have a pair of fabric scissors, please bring them with you. If not, don’t worry — scissors will be available to use during the session. Refreshments Tea, coffee, and biscuits are included. There is also an onsite café that serves tea, coffee and a wonderful array of cakes. Dates and times This three-week course takes place on Friday 18 September, Friday 25 September, and Friday 2 October, from 1pm to 3pm. Location Coda Music & Arts Trust, Chewton Farm Road, Walkford BH23 5QL. Studio 7 is in the Stables part of the building where there is also a delightful café and gallery space. Coda is at the opposite end of Chewton Farm Road to the Chewton Glen Hotel. When you turn into the property drive past the meadow on the left and around the building and black barn on the right. This will gain you access to the main carpark in the centre courtyard of the building. The entrance to Studio 7 is at the end of the Stables nearest the black barn (near where you have just driven in). If you are unsure, please visit the Bramble Hill café – in the right-hand corner of the car park, and they will be able to assist you.
