Join us for a chill day exploring secret streams and the magic of Swallows Wood up close! 🌳 SWALLOWS WOOD & THE HIDDEN WATERS Peaceful woodland. Hidden waters. A little adventure close to home. Join Ashton Hiking Club for a women-only walk through Swallows Wood and the countryside around Arnfield Reservoir, near Tintwistle. Step away from your everyday routine and enjoy woodland paths, waterside views and the colours of late autumn. We’ll take time to notice the little things, pause for photographs and enjoy being outdoors together. Whether you’re coming alone or bringing a friend, you’ll find a welcoming group of women to share the experience with. ✨ HIKE HIGHLIGHTS 🌿 Swallows Wood - explore peaceful woodland and reconnect with nature. 🌿 Waterside scenery - enjoy views around Arnfield Reservoir and discover quieter corners along the way. 🌿 Autumn colour - look out for changing leaves and seasonal details that make a November woodland walk special. 🌿 Time to pause - enjoy photographs, conversation and a packed-lunch stop along the route. 🌿 A welcoming community - walk alongside women of different ages and backgrounds, with kindness and encouragement at the heart of the day. 🌿 YOUR ADVENTURE 🍃 Saturday 7 November 2026 🍃 Location: Swallows Wood, Tintwistle — Peak District area 🍃 Difficulty: Beginner / Moderate 🍃 Registration: 10:15 AM 🍃 Walk starts: 10:30 AM 🍃 Estimated finish: 3:00 PM We’ll allow time for lunch, photographs and rest stops. The finish time is approximate and may vary with conditions and the group’s pace. 📍 WHERE WE MEET Outside the Thai restaurant in the Arnfield Fly Fishery car park Crossgate Lane, Tintwistle SK13 1HP Parking and toilets are free. Please allow enough time to park, use the facilities and register before we set off. 🥾 COME PREPARED Bring sturdy walking boots with good grip, warm layers, a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, packed lunch, snacks and water. Please also carry any personal medication and a fully charged phone. Woodland paths can be muddy and slippery in November, so suitable footwear is essential. Please let Farzana know privately before the walk about any medical condition, injury or support need that could affect your participation. Knowing your needs beforehand helps us plan and support you on the day.
