Isla Collective We embarked on a bit of a creative experiment: bringing together brilliant musicians for regular sessions, getting in a room, and seeing if we could write and record a song in a single day. No grand plan, just a shared space, a few instruments, and the aim of capturing whatever happened. Over nine sessions, we created nine songs... each one a little snapshot of that day, that room, and the people in it. Some beautiful music came out of it. No months of tweaking. No sitting on a song until it feels perfect. Just a few hours of seeing what came together. Each song captures a particular moment, how the song felt at the time, that particular combination of people, moods and conversations. And then we’ve left them there. Until now, these songs have never been played live. They’ve existed as little snapshots of the days we made them, recorded, but never really revisited. So this show is a bit of a coming together. We’re bringing the songs back into the room, some for the first time since the day they were written, and playing them together as a collective. Expect folk, jazz, world influences, stories and improvisation Come and be part of the first one.
