Lunchtime Piano Recital: All-Beethoven Masterworks This week join us in welcoming BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Berniya Hamie for an unforgettable 45-minute journey through Beethoven’s keyboard masterpieces. Featuring the explosive, heroic energy of the 'Waldstein' Sonata alongside the intimate, sublime beauty of Sonata Op. 109. Brighton-born pianist Berniya Hamie performs extensively as a soloist and chamber musician at major venues including Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall, and Festival Hall. A BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist (2025–27) and recipient of the 2024 Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Scholarship, she has appeared at the BBC Proms and festivals across the UK and internationally. Upcoming highlights include debuts at Elbphilharmonie’s Laeiszhalle and Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Berniya is a founding member of the award-winning Astatine Trio—mentored by Alfred Brendel and prize-winners at the 2025 Franz Schubert Competition in Graz. As a concerto soloist, she has performed with the Brighton Youth Orchestra and Worthing Philharmonic.
