Mutual Aid PIP Advocacy Training @ The Ledward Centre, Brighton and Online

Learn how to support someone through the Personal Independence Payment application process. This session is held at The Ledward Centre, Brighton, and Online via Google Meet. in collaboration with Disability Action Brighton and Brighton Mask Bloc. Session runs 3 hours with 2 short comfort breaks and time for questions at the end. We will cover how the process works, the criteria, the forms, how to write a support letter, types of evidence, how to advocate for someone in an assessment or tribunal, and more! We hope to give you confidence to provide disability advocacy throughout the PIP process including applications, reviews, supporting letters, in-person or telephone assessments, mandatory reconsideration, and tribunals. These sessions are not intended to provide direct support to people currently navigating the PIP application process. (Though we hope to run these in future!) Covid: We are taking covid precautions, please do not attend if you have symptoms of a transmissible illness. We ask folks to do an LFT beforehand if possible, and to mask if you are able. We will have both LFTs and masks available. The venue has a coffee shop that will be open, and we encourage you to support them by grabbing a coffee or cake!
