Full description from organizerShow less
As another day turns into another year, this is a moment to let something out about yourself. Inspired by techniques used by Henry Darger, from tracing and carbon paper copying to collage and drawing, this Pot Luck looks at an alternate way to make a self-portrait. Other inspirations: Sean Landers (Fart, 1993), Suzy Treister's labyrinthine images and Marlene Dumas. In order to do this you might want to bring some of the following as inspiration: • Photographs from today or all the way back to your earliest years, including key moments that stand out for you and images with other people in them • An object or two that speaks to who you are • Phrases or things you say frequently that feel uniquely yours • Images or paper based objects you might want to use
