Sound Stories Volume 1 with Luke Una

A new chapter begins for two of Brighton's legendary DJs. Andy Mac and Emma Cooter are launching Sound Stories, a new music night that celebrates the art of the selector: records chosen with care, sets that build and flow, and a dancefloor that trusts the DJ to take it somewhere unexpected. For Volume One, they've invited a very special guest who has spent four decades doing exactly that, Manchester's Luke Una. If you've ever danced until sunrise in a basement, a warehouse or a friend's kitchen, you'll understand Luke Una. He started out in Sheffield's early house scene in the mid-1980s. He then moved to Manchester, where he co-founded Electric Chair with Justin Crawford, a cult club night that became a cornerstone of the UK underground. That spirit carried on through Electric Elephant, the Croatian festival built on the same eclectic ethos. He also created Homoelectric, the long-running night that grew into Homobloc, a sell-out festival in Manchester. An early start and a midnight finish mean all the dancing without the Sunday write-off. Capacity is limited and Volume One of a new night only happens once.
