Wound Care Study Day 3 - Pressure Ulcers

To develop knowledge and skills in the management of pressure ulcers in healthcare To develop knowledge and skills in the management of patients who require care of pressure ulcers. This course is practical and interactive and is suitable for all clinical staff. A pressure ulcer (or bedsore/pressure sore) is skin and tissue damage from unrelieved pressure, often over bony areas, that cuts off blood supply, leading to redness, pain and potentially deep wounds reaching muscle or bone, often affecting those with limited mobility, and can be worsened by friction and shear. Prevention focuses on relieving pressure, while treatment involves wound care to heal damaged skin and underlying issures.
