A fundraiser for Aidbox Community - Have a beer, have a boogie and support Aid Box's epic work in Bristol - win-win? The Mighty Soul Destroyers (ft The Rev Phil Harmonic) + Arkansaw Jukebox Gonna be a big one - 2 of the best party bands on the UK festival scene causing mayhem in support of the epic work that Aidbox Community do in Bristol (https://www.aidboxcommunity.co.uk/) All you have you do is come down for a beer and a boogie with your mates - all profits to AidBox. The Mighty Soul Destroyers (ft The Rev Phil Harmonic) Praise be! For one night and one night only, you - the audience - will become the congregation of the 1st James Brown Church of Sweet Soul Music, and the Reverand Phil Harmonic will save your soul, he’ll save their souls, hell he’ll save all our souls, lemmie hear y’all say “our-souls” 😊 More of a tribe than a band, the Mighty Soul Destroyers have been playing their mix of cheese tinged, horn driven soul since Adam was a lad – and now their spiritual leader – the Rev Phil Harmonic – has returned from the wilderness to lead his 12 (coincidence?) musical disciples in a quest to save the beating heart of festivals and live music throughout the land, with their firmly tongue in cheek, high energy, horn fuelled musical onslaught – lemmie hear y’all say “hell yeah!” A 13 piece line up, with 6 awesome horns, 2 powerhouse female singers and a rock solid rhythm section, plus the Reverend himself at the altar of sweet soul music. It’s an unnatural phenomenon of truly awe-inspiring musical power dubbed “Best Party Band in Bristol” by Venue Magazine who have been tearing it up at festivals accross the country this summer. So yes it’s sort of soul covers from all the usual suspects (Motown, Stax, Atlantic) but don’t be surprised if you end up at some very unexpected musical destinations, all designed to get the crowed up, dancing and laughing - because as the one true James Brown once said, “you gotta get up to get down” The Arkansaw Jukebox Collective They are covers Jim, but not as we know them! Sex Pistols on a banjo? Radiohead as a waltz? A Bluegrass Stormzy?! Has the world gone mad...? Fear not dear reader it’s just the legendary Arkansaw Jukebox Collective - playing covers just like god intended... bluegrass style! The moving feast of humanity that is the Arkansaws (girls, blokes, fiddles, banjos, trumpets - just play what y'brung!) deliver a show stopping performance with covers of very well-known numbers (cue the big sing-a-long!) but with a real twist as they unearth the hidden country heart in EVERY genre of music. Rock, pop, hip-hop, dance, rap – they all get the treatment!
