EXPERIMENTAL EYFS STEM Autumn Term

Come join us at the STEM Discovery Centre for our EXPERIMENTAL EYFS STEM sessions this autumn! EXPERIMENTAL EYFS STEM Autumn Term 2026 (21st September, 19th October & 16th November) Each session will involve activities that promote the scientific method through practical experiments. Autumn Term session dates - See agenda for activity description. 21st September: Stay Afloat! Explores the principles of buoyancy, density, and structural design. Participants are challenged to design and construct a small boat using limited materials that can float on water while safely carrying an “egg passenger". 19th October: Red Cabbage Rainbow This vibrant, hands-on activity encourages learners to explore the science of chemistry by investigating acids, bases, and pH levels using a natural indicator made from red cabbage. 16th November : Crafty Chemistry Using simple materials, to create beautiful branching dendrite structures, learning how science can produce intricate, natural designs while combining creativity with hands-on experimentation.
