CILT (UK) Visit to Ashford International Truck Stop POSTPONDED What: Visit to Ashford International Truck Stop When: 16 September 2026, 14:30 - 16:30 Location: Main Reception, Unit 14, Waterbrook Park, Arrowhead Road, Ashford TN24 0FL Ashford International Truckstop is the largest Truckstop in the UK with a nominal maximum capacity of 660 trucks although on occasions this figure is exceeded to potentially 112% capacity and vehicles often have to be turned away and plans for expansion are under development. High quality facilities including for dining, washing and leisure activities are provided for drivers on a 24/7 basis and the Truckstop proves particularly popular at weekends for international drivers when motorway driving for truck drivers is severely restricted. The site is also a highly valuable local asset as it reduces problems from lorries parked in roads and laybys across the Kent and beyond with considerable problems of litter and disturbance for nearby residents. Plenty of free parking is available to the side of the main entrance. The visit will include a full tour of the premises and a presentation by Darren regarding the history and workings of the site as well as challenges encountered with full opportunities for questions. Refreshments will be available during the presentation which will be held in the restaurant area.
