What could a Green Loop look like for Ramsgate?

Explore how Ramsgate’s green spaces and overlooked public spaces could be better connected and activated for people, place and nature. Ramsgate has green spaces, pocket parks, alleyways, public spaces and overlooked corners spread across the town. What could happen if we started thinking about them as part of a connected network – and how could local people, businesses and organisations help shape it? Join us for a participatory workshop to explore the idea of a Ramsgate Green Loop. Using maps of the town, we'll look at what already exists, what's already planned and where there are gaps and opportunities. Together we'll explore how spaces and routes could be better connected, used and cared for. We'll consider opportunities including: • biodiversity and creating more space for nature • community growing and food • walking, wheeling and cycling • community use and ownership • health, wellbeing and social prescribing • bringing overlooked and underused spaces back into use • tackling antisocial behaviour and making spaces feel safer • public and community art • connections with local businesses and community projects • creating something distinctive that residents and visitors can explore across Ramsgate This isn't a consultation on a finished proposal. The Green Loop is an idea we want to explore with the people who know Ramsgate. We'll use the session to map existing assets, bring together work already happening across the town and identify ideas and opportunities that could be developed further. Whether you're a resident, business, community organisation, green group or simply have ideas about Ramsgate's public spaces, we'd love you to take part. Saturday 24 October, 2–4pm Ramsgate Space, 17 Albert Court, Ramsgate CT11 9DN The workshop forms part of The Future is Green, a programme bringing together conversations about Ramsgate's green future, community, jobs, skills and opportunities. About Ramsgate Space Ramsgate Space is a community-led regeneration CIC working to bring vacant and underused spaces back into use and explore practical ways to support the wider regeneration of Ramsgate.
