Abergavenny Insight Meditation, South Wales & The Marches is part of a network of meditation groups across the UK. A warm welcome to Abergavenny Insight Meditation, South Wales & The Marches. AIM is part of a network of meditation groups across the UK connected to the Gaia House tradition. We will meet every two months for a silent meditation day-retreat near Abergavenny, with the support of a Gaia House community dharma leader (Colette Power, Gaia House CDL). The day’s schedule is similar to the schedule followed at Gaia House: a simple programme, alternating between sitting, movement and walking meditation, maintaining silence throughout the day. Please read about Gaia House's vision here. The day-long retreats are self-led practice days and are not suitable for beginners. We offer introduction days once or twice a year, in response to expressions of interest. We invite you to give Dana or a donation to cover costs. Please bring a vegan/vegetarian dish for a shared lunch. Just a reminder that the day will be in silence, including lunch. There will be time to talk and ask questions at the beginning and the end of the day. You are welcome to sit on a chair, but please bring a meditation cushion or stool if you'd prefer. You might want to bring a blanket or light throw. We'll have the chance to go outside, so bring waterproof shoes and rainwear if you'd like to do some of the walking practice outside.
