Showcase Concert: Beethoven, Dohnányi & more

An outstanding group of musicians comes together for an afternoon of chamber music in the intimate surroundings of Kings Road Yard Our guest artists Sébastien van Kuijk (cello) and Rebecca Jones (principal viola, BBC NOW) join festival founder Róisín Verity (violin) for two contrasting string trios: Beethoven's dramatic and brilliant Trio in C minor Op. 9 No. 3 and Dohnányi's richly inventive Serenade for String Trio. The trio is joined by Thomas Verity (clarinet) for Quartettino by Hungarian composer Rezsö Kókai - an attractive, rarely-heard work full of folk character. With the audience seated just a few feet from the perfomers in a wonderfully personal setting, this is chamber music as it was meant to be heard!
