An Introduction to Sensory Circuits for pupils with SEND

Develop an understanding of what sensory circuits are, the benefits to pupils with SEND and how to introduce and implement in schools. 2 hour twilight training session course content: - An introduction to sensory circuits and the benefits to pupils with SEND. - Introduction to sensory processing and regulation associated with sensory circuits. - Examples of practical implementation of sensory circuits, factors to consider and how to adapt to individual school needs and available provision. Potential practical session to provide an example set up specific to your schools resources. - Planning and progression pathways available through sensory circuits to support the PE curriculum and PE and School Sport Competition. Workshop tutor: Hilary Stephenson (BSc & QTS) Target audience: All practitioners - primary and secondary. About the tutor: Hilary has 20 years of experience in Physical Education across primary and secondary schools throughout the North of England, including 8 years of experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Her roles have included PE Teacher, School Sports Coordinator, SEND Teacher, Youth Sport Trust Lead Inclusion School Coordinator and Physical and Sensory Lead at a local SEND school. Hilary is passionate about making Physical Education a positive, inclusive and empowering experience for all young people.
