England's 1100th Anniversary Festival Weekend

12/07/2027 will mark 1100 years since the birth of England. We'll be overlooking the site of our country's birth at Brougham Hall, Cumbria. Our 1100th Anniversary Festival will be at Brougham Hall, near Penrith, Cumbria. The grounds inside this wonderful man-made amphitheatre will be transformed into a 'living history' village, reminiscient of King Athelstan's time Brougham Hall overlooks the confluence of the Rivers Eamont and Lowther. This is considered the most likely place where the historic meeting between Athelstan and the British kings took place on 12th July 927. The "river's meet" can also be seen from the site of the now demolished Brocavum Roman Fort, but in 927 this would still have been standing and may well have provided shelter for King Athelstan
