The Long Players Present.... Eurythmics !- Matinee

Catch The Long Players live as they perform Eurythmics’ Be Yourself Tonight in full, plus a massive set of greatest hits! It’s alright, the Long Players are coming back. Sweet dreams are made of this. They are recreating, in its entirety, the magic of Be Yourself Tonight, the iconic album from synth-pop royalty Eurythmics. In the second half, they deliver a high-octane set of non-stop classics from Eurythmics’ and Annie Lennox’s pop-gem-festooned back catalogues. Think classic 80s vibes, shimmering vocals, soaring ballads and pop hooks so irresistible the effect will be like having an orchestra of angels playing with your heart. Bringing together Malmesbury’s extraordinary wealth of musical and artistic talent, the Long Players have established a great reputation as a band of sisters (and misters) doing it for themselves and the town’s folk. Long Players’ nights are so much more than gigs. And Long Players’ audiences are so much more too. YOU are part of the show. The theme for this one is ‘Be Yourself Tonight… in the 80s’. So we want all of you to break out the neon, regrow the mullets, stone-wash those jeans, ruffle those skirts and puff those sleeves. This is going to be a technicolour sonic adventure into the decade that beige forgot. It’s the perfect antidote to that sinking feeling, so prepare to throw some spectacular 80s shapes on the dance floor.miss it.ery closley ...
