Enjoy an autumn forage, gather natural treasures and make your own decorative witch's broom in this special Halloween workshop! Halloween Forage & Make: Decorative Witch's Broom 🍂🧹A little woodland magic, autumn treasures and a beautiful handmade broom to take home! Celebrate Halloween with a wonderfully witchy day of foraging and creative making at Hedgerow & Hearthcraft, nestled in the beautiful Sussex countryside near Petworth. We'll begin with a leisurely guided forage, exploring the seasonal landscape and gathering interesting branches, twigs, foliage and natural treasures to incorporate into our very own decorative witch's brooms. After our morning outdoors, we'll take a well-earned break for lunch before returning to the warmth of the studio for a cosy afternoon of making. Using our gathered materials, we'll explore how to construct and bind a traditional-style broom, before decorating it with beautiful natural embellishments, including pinecone flowers, seasonal foliage and other woodland treasures. Whether your style is wonderfully wild and rustic, delicately decorated or a little bit witchy, you'll have plenty of creative freedom to make something entirely your own. Your finished broom will make a lovely seasonal decoration for your home, ready to hang on a wall, display by the fireplace or enjoy throughout the autumn months. 🍃 Our day together 10:00am–12:00pm | Autumn Foraging We'll head outdoors for a gentle, guided forage, taking time to explore, gather inspiration and collect suitable natural materials for our brooms. 12:00pm–1:00pm | Lunch Break Time to relax and refuel! You're welcome to bring a packed lunch to enjoy in the studio, or visit the nearby Mill Yard Café for something delicious. Lunch is not included in the workshop price. 1:00pm–4:00pm | Witch's Broom Making Back in the studio, we'll spend a relaxed afternoon constructing, binding and decorating our brooms. Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, friendly conversation, plenty of creative freedom and, of course, tea, coffee and homemade cake! With just four places available, there's plenty of individual guidance and space to work at your own pace. 🍁 What to bring Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking outdoors. You may also wish to bring gardening gloves for gathering natural materials. Bring a packed lunch if you'd prefer not to visit the café. All tools and materials needed for the afternoon workshop will be provided. 🌧 A note about the weather Our morning forage will take place outdoors, so please dress for the Great British autumn weather! Wellies or sturdy waterproof footwear and a raincoat are a good idea, as the ground may be muddy or damp.
