Members-Only Event: An Autumnal Walk Around the Mens Nature Reserve

Join Tony Whitbread, President of Sussex Wildlife Trust, for a gentle walk and chat on the reserve. Whereas most woods show clear signs of past management, the Mens is what a wood is like when recent human influence has been very low. Join Tony for a gentle walk around an “old growth forest”, a rare maybe overlooked type of English woodland and enjoy a relaxing discussion about woodland ecology and how it works. The walk will be at a gentle pace, between 1-2 miles in length, with lots of stops along the way. As you turn off the A272 into Crimbourne lane, keep an eye out for the car park on your right. Alternatively use what3words for directions. What to bring: Terrain is very uneven and likely to be very muddy in places (it’s always muddy at The Mens!), so good footwear and clothing for possible bad weather is recommended along with water, binoculars or cameras. You are welcome to bring a warm drink and a snack to enjoy back at the car park. Parking: There is limited free parking. Please park considerately and consider car sharing.
