bluegrass @ temperance | Taff Rapids

They've stormed all the festivals and somehow we've managed to book them in here! Welsh Blŵgras like you've never seen before! “In terms of dazzling instrumental expertise, Taff Rapids can stand alongside the best bluegrass bands on the planet.” — Songlines Taff Rapids are Cardiff’s high-energy bluegrass outfit, blending original songwriting, tight harmonies, and a distinctly Welsh twist into their signature Blŵgras sound. Singing in both English and Welsh, the quartet - Darren Eedens, Siôn Russell Jones, David Grubb, and Clem Saynor - deliver dynamic performances rooted in bluegrass tradition but unmistakably their own. Their international profile has risen quickly with official showcases at IBMA World of Bluegrass (USA) and Folk Alliance International (Canada). In Europe, they’ve performed at major festivals including Festival Interceltique de Lorient, Green Man, Purbeck Valley Folk Festival, La Roche, and Rotterdam, helping establish them as one of the UK’s most exciting emerging live folk acts. The band has received strong media support with regular airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales, and BBC Radio Cymru, plus TV features on BBC Two, BBC Four, and S4C. Their debut album Blŵgras (2025) has been praised in Songlines and R2 Magazine, marking their arrival as a fresh force in contemporary bluegrass. “You are placing Taff Rapids in the top draw, the playing is exquisite.” — FATEA “Lightning-fast riffs and electric energy.” — Wiltshire Gazette & Herald
