madfolk @ temperance | Mambo Jambo

Our good pals The Churchfitters told us to book this extraordinary duo. So we did. Two people, dozens of instruments. Come join the fun! Musical explorers and eclectic duo Mambo Jambo have an infectious passion for playing live, delighting audiences with their upbeat shows, their original songs and all their instruments! Their music fuses magically crafted elements of roots, folk, world and jazz. A fabulous musical treat is in store wherever they roll up, their tour bus packed to the brim with instruments. Frankie is on sax, vocals, clarinet, flute, uke, guitar, and Pete on guitar, vocal, banjo, tres (traditional Cuban guitar), accordion, & between them all kinds of percussion. Pete and Frankie have appeared on various BBC Local Radio shows, BBC Look North, and MTV Asia, and have been gathering admirers at venues and festivals nationally. UK festivals include Shetland, Broadstairs, Sidmouth, Beverley Folk Festivals, Manchester & Cork Jazz Festival, Musicport, Knockengorroch, International Eisteddfod, Costa del Folk etc. And plenty of Village Halls, Acoustic clubs, Arts Centres etc! They’ve toured France, Ireland, Netherlands and Sweden, and played gigs as far afield as Havana, Borneo and Reykjavik.
