Sip & Sketch: Festive Doodle

A playful evening of festive doodling, watercolour and creative imagination. Join us this December for a festive edition of Sip & Sketch, this time swapping the life model for paint, pens and a little imagination. Inspired by the playful drawing technique of Hirameki, the evening starts with simple splashes and shapes of watercolour, then we use festive prompts to transform them into characters, objects and wonderfully weird little Christmas creations. Think wonky snowmen, party-going penguins, Christmas dinner disasters, festive characters and whatever else you happen to spot hiding in the paint. There’s absolutely no drawing experience needed. In fact, the less seriously you take it, the better. I’ll guide you through a series of prompts and exercises throughout the evening, with plenty of freedom to take your drawings in your own direction. By the end of the evening, you'll have a collection of festive and hilarious doodles to take home and frame, show your friends or turn into a truly unique Christmas card! Your ticket includes: • A relaxed guided creative session • All watercolour, pens and drawing materials to use during the evening • Paper for your festive creations • A complimentary house wine, soft drink, tea or coffee • Plenty of festive inspiration and prompts • You do NOT need to purchase a separate sketch pack for this event, everything you need to take part is included in your ticket. Make an evening of it We’ll have a break halfway through for drinks, chatting and admiring everyone’s increasingly questionable festive creations. Optional nibbles can be pre-ordered when you book your ticket, ready for you to enjoy during the break. [Menu/details TBC] Come on your own, bring a friend, or make it your festive get-together. No artistic talent required. Just turn up, have a drink and see what you can find hiding in the paint.
