Artitude Cardboard Costume Workshop

Get creative this Halloween! Make eco-friendly costumes, use child-safe tools and learn how to reuse and reimagine cardboard! ♻️ Get creative this Halloween at our Cardboard Costume Workshop — where imagination meets sustainability! Using materials that would otherwise go to waste, families will design and build their own spooky (or silly!) cardboard costumes while learning about waste reduction and reuse in a hands-on, fun way. Choose from templates like a witch’s hat and broom, spider, zombie, or skeleton . Participants will get to try out some of the amazing tools from Repair & Share Foyle’s Library of Things, including the child-safe Chomp Saw and Makedo cardboard cutting tools. Everyone will also take home a worksheet full of ideas on how to recreate cardboard costumes using everyday household items like scissors, pizza cutters, and even cutlery. 👪 Parental guidance and supervision are required, especially when using cutting tools. ♻️ Come along, get crafty, and help make Halloween a little greener! Artitude: Climate, Culture & Circularity harnesses the power of arts and creativity to connect communities and inspire behavioural change on issues of waste, consumption and climate action. Funded by the National Lottery UK Climate Action Fund, it is a partnership between The Playhouse, Northern Ireland Resources Network, Repair & Share Foyle, Derry City and Strabane District Council and Queen's University Belfast.
