Full description from organizer

Field to Plate brings people together to inform the Strategic Review considering the future of County Buildings in Cupar. You are invited! Where does our food come from? What does it take to get it onto our plates? And could the answers help shape the future of one of Cupar’s best-known buildings? On Friday 27 November, Growing Our Future – Field to Plate will bring those questions into County Hall for a day of conversation about food and drink, farming and community life in north-east Fife. You are invited to be part of it. The idea connects two places: • Cupar - The Field, its market-town identity and surrounding producing landscape; and • St Andrews - The Plate, where food, drink and hospitality are central to the visitor experience. Between field and plate sit people, businesses and choices that affect us all. Bring your questions to County Hall The free daytime programme runs from 09:30 to 15:00 in the former County Hall at County Buildings. Arrival and registration begin at 09:30, with the first discussion at 10:00. You do not need to work in the related sectors to contribute: whether you grow, make, sell or cook food, support people in your community or simply care about the future of the area, your perspective matters. Four facilitated discussions will open up the conversation, with time for audience questions. Space is limited. We have allocated free tickets for each. We are asking folk to register for those sessions that most interest them. 10:00–10:45 | Can Cupar showcase Fife’s whisky story? Slàinte! Exploring what a shared whisky visitor proposition could offer and how Cupar might contribute. 11:00–11:45 | Food Markets Are History. Discuss. Could Cupar’s market-town heritage help create viable opportunities for producers, businesses and shoppers today? 12:30–13:15 | Brassica or Brassic? Can Farming Sustain Our Future? Can Our Future Sustain Farming? A conversation about farming resilience, routes to market and the landscape on which food production depends. 13:30–14:15 | Food for the Future? What’s needed? Considering dignity, choice, fresh food, skills and collaboration in the way communities access food and support. 14:30-1500 | the wash-up! For those able to be at the close of the event, there is a 'wash up' session to cover recurring themes, unresolved questions and 'what's next' in the ongoing conversation. The event is scheduled to close at 3pm. The Plate For those wishing to continue the day, The Plate will be served at the Links Clubhouse in St Andrews. The Trust and their suppliers are helping to sponsor the event to keep costs for those attending to a minimum. All those attending the daytime Field sessions will receive a promotional code enabling you to take advantage of that discount. Again, places are limited and all are advised to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. You can book direct with no promo code via this link.
