Background Facilitating Attuned Interactions (FAN) is a relational practice framework and approach for professionals working with families in Early Years. The role of the frontline practitioner is crucial; learning and evidence from Phase 3 of the Open Kindergarten project cited the importance of having tools to respond to the emotional aspects of working with families, balanced with robust support including reflection opportunities to build and maintain a healthy, well supported practitioner.
