Hannah Ruddick-Trentmann Quintet [Straight Ahead Jazz]

Blending soundworlds from avant-garde jazz and hip-hop to post-bop and Scottish traditional, original music and standards Hannah Ruddick-Trentmann is an Edinburgh-based trumpeter, composer, and bandleader, with a sound inspired by icons of modern jazz like Ingrid Jensen and Roy Hargrove. Blending soundworlds from avant-garde jazz and hip-hop to post-bop and Scottish traditional, and inspired by concepts of memory, nature, and identity, Hannah and her band will be performing a selection of original compositions as well as their favourite modern standards. Alongside long-time collaborators Jenna Tufnail (tenor & soprano saxophones), Thomas Morris (piano), Theo Moran (bass), and Finlay Horn (drums), Hannah’s quintet have been quickly establishing themselves on the Edinburgh jazz scene, with recent performances at the Bruntsfield Pianodrome and Umbrella Vinyl. Tonight, they are joined by special guest vocalist Bathsheba Tingey.
