Moon Tribe Halloween Mbongi honouring the ancesters

Our usual gathering for ecstatic music and dance with a tribal twist, Live music and drumming on All Hallows Eve honouring our ancestors Our usual gathering to share live ecstatic music and dance, honouring the cycles of our cosmos and our place in it. Coming together for a bit of ritual, sillyness, voice, movement and dance. Dancing together and individually, a chance to connect with other like minded people or process on your own. An oportunity to cleanse the body and spirit. Our theme this time is Halloween, the time when the veil between the material world and spirit world is the thinnest. We will honour those who came before us, familly, friends and teachers and remember their strength, courage and wisdom. And since this is ment to be a celebration we plan to introduce our own little cheeky Moon Tribe dance, a bit of a mix of culture we call our Afro-Ceilidh. There will be an altar in the room if you want to bring an item or picture of your loved one to have at the celebration. We like to really get it going, it starts mellow and slowly with sitar, harp, hang drum or voice moving into percussion and drums provided by the Kabala Allstars, it rises like a wave, gathering intencity to a chaotic, ecstatic peak and a mellow come down to a wee sound bath and silence. Finishing with time to chat over juice and nibbles. We like to concider each event as a journey in mind, movement and community, cleansing both body and spirit, bringing joy and sanity to our own emediate world
