Women's History tour - Canongate (1.5 hours)

Discover the history of Canongate, a separate burgh from Edinburgh until 19th century, and the women who lived/worked here. Starting at the old well outside Moubray House/John Knox House, Ruth will take you down through the Canongate, a separate burgh from Edinburgh until 19th century, exploring the lower part of the Royal Mile and the women who worked and lived there, finishing up at Holyrood Palace. The tour will take one and half hours (90mins) in total, and will be outside with no shelter so please wrap up according to the weather conditions! There will be no toilet stops or seats along the way. FAQs Where and when do we meet? Please meet at the old well outside John Knox House/Moubray House clothing shop 5-10 minutes before the tour is due to start. Where will we finish? We will finish at Holyrood Palace/Parliament area at the bottom of the Royal Mile. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Phone ticket is fine Safety issues Please be aware that there are no seats available along the route, so the tour will be on your feet, walking and standing. You are responsible for your own safety.
