Women's History tour - heart of Edinburgh Old Town (1 hour)

A walking tour of the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, highlighting women from history and the work they did. Starting at the old well outside Moubray House/John Knox House, Ruth will take you up along the high street, weaving in and out of closes and alleyways, to finish near St Giles Cathedral, explaining not just the history of Edinburgh but also highlighting women from the past, from the well-known to what life was like for those who left no record in history. The tour will take one hour in total, and will be outside with no shelter so please wrap up according to the weather conditions! There will be no toilet stops or seats along the way. FAQs Where and when do we meet? Please meet at the old well (show in the photo of the event) outside John Knox House/Moubray House clothing shop15 minutes before the tour is due to start. Where will we finish? We will finish near St Giles Cathedral. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Phone ticket is fine Safety issues Please be aware that there are no seats available along the route, so the hour will be on your feet, walking and standing. You are responsible for your own safety. Taking part in the tour means you are participating at your own risk. If you have pre-existing conditions that may be relevant or feel unwell during the tour, please let your guide know.
