105 km • 30 Green Lanes • Rally & Adventure Modes BLACKDOWN HILLS 105 km • 30 Green Lanes • Rally & Adventure Modes The third Freedom Roadbook heads into the Blackdown Hills for 105 km of self-guided roadbook navigation through some fantastic Devon and Somerset countryside. The route takes in 30 green lanes, ranging from narrow single track and farm lanes to ancient flint and gravel roads, with open sections across the hills and views over the surrounding countryside. Along the way you'll also encounter a couple of picturesque shallow ford crossings. Most of the route is typical enjoyable green-lane riding, but there are two or three longer sections of loose flint which add a little more challenge. On a lightweight trail bike, riders with normal green-laning experience shouldn't find these sections particularly difficult. On a middleweight adventure bike such as a Ténéré 700, KTM 890 Adventure or similar, they can be more physically demanding, particularly if you're less experienced riding loose terrain. There's nothing deliberately extreme on the route, and no sections intended to put riders into a situation where they can't continue or safely turn back. As always, ride to your own ability and the conditions on the day. Two ways to ride Rally Mode The full roadbook navigation experience. Navigate using the tulips and distances without the map. Unlocking navigation assistance records a DNF. Adventure Mode Follow the roadbook and enjoy the navigation challenge, with the map available if you need help getting back on course or dealing with an unexpected obstruction. Your licence Your Blackdown Hills licence is valid from 1 October until 30 November 2026. Once purchased, you can ride Blackdown Hills as many times as you like during the licence period. Ride Adventure Mode, return and tackle Rally Mode, or simply come back and enjoy the route again. One licence is required per rider. There is no organised ride day or fixed start date. Blackdown Hills is self-guided, so choose a day that suits you and ride anytime during the licence period. Licence: £20 per rider You'll need a suitable trail/adventure motorcycle and the Seekers app to access the digital roadbook. You may begin at any time within the published start window. Once you have installed the seekers app & created an account, then purchased the roadbook licence.
