Fire circle for young people

Young adults connecting in nature at the change of the season. Samhain Fire Circle - Gathering at the Threshold of the year As the year turns towards winter and the days grow shorter, we enter a different kind of time. Samhain marks the end of the Celtic year and the beginning of the dark half of the year. Traditionally, this threashold was a time for gathering, remembering those who have gone before us, honouring the changing seasons and listening for what might emerge from the darkness. Join us just before Samhain for an evening in the woods around the fire, We will spend time outdoors as the light fades, sharing food, stories, play and conversation before gathering around the fire for a Way of Council Circle. Council offers us a chance to slow down and really listen, to ourselves and to one another, without needing to fix, advise or have all the answers. We’ll have space to share something of our own journey, to hear stories, and to explore what this turning of the year might mean for us. As darkness falls, we’ll honour this particular time of year: a time of endings and beginnings, of letting go, remembering and resting. We may take some time to remember people and ancestors who have shaped our lives, and to consider what we might want to carry forward into the coming year and what we are ready to leave behind. There will be time for play, connection and simply being together outside. No previous experience of Council is needed, and you don’t need to be comfortable talking in a group. You are welcome to listen and speak only if you want to. This gathering is for young people aged approximately 16–30. Please bring: plenty of warm, waterproof clothing, suitable footwear for being in the woods, water and anything you’d like to eat or share. The event will take place outdoors in a safe woodland setting, with a fire and shelter available. Circlewise is a service that provides facilitated listening circles and the way of council training to community members, organisation's and those working in education. They are committed to supporting individuals, groups, schools and the community by building life skills in communication and empathy through circle practices.
