LGBT+ Awareness. Accr Course for Counsellors & Psychotherapists @£80 p day

A three day CPD Accredited Certificate Course for Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Wellbeing Professionals. Intercom Trust offers a safe and non-judgemental environment in which to learn about and reflect on the experiences of those with diverse sexual orientation or gender identity. The overall course aim is to increase practitioner confidence and cultural knowledge when working with LGBT+ clients or their families, and to help professionals understand the hidden barriers for such clients when accessing their services. Module 1: LGB Awareness. Module 2: Transgender Awareness Module 3: Key presenting issues and reflections for practice The course has been designed as an 'entry level' awareness course for those with little knowledge or experience of LGBT+ people or the issues they may present, or as a 'Refresher' course or those with more knowledge / experience. It has been written by Intercom Trust professionals (including counselling psychotherapists and clinical supervisors), and draws upon the in-depth knowledge, statistics and experience the organisation has garnered from their work across the rural Southwest since 1997 Practical info: • The course is delivered over three (in person) day sessions. 09.30-5pm, to a small group of up to 12 attendees in EXETER • The course is delivered with a frame of a PowerPoint presentation, with small and larger group exercises and discussions making up the greater part of content. • There are lunch, morning and afternoon breaks, and all resources/handouts will be emailed after each module. • CPD certificate is issued by email after completion of all three modules Accessibility & transport /parking: • The Exeter venue is on ground floor (please contact for further accessibility needs) • Enablers /support assistants can attend at no cost (please email organiser to arrange) • Parking: some spaces on site, street parking nearby or short walk to town car parks • Transport: 15 minutes walk from a main train station (Exeter St James's Park and on bus routes) This course is CPD accredited by The CPD Certification Service (and received a commendation from the accrediting body for it's content) Your fees for this course are used for course delivery costs and to fund our vital services
