Spoon Carving Taster Session

This is a short session giving you an introduction to the basics of spoon carving. Covering how to carve safely and basic knife techniques. We love sharing our skills, experience and love of wood carving. During this session you will understand how to carve safely, and learn some of the basic techniques used in spoon carving. You will watch demonstrations of how to carve and will get the opportunity to have a go yourself. Its unlikely you will finish your spoon during the hour, but you should feel ready to continue your carving journey beyond the session. You don't need to bring anything with you, unless you have your own tools that you would prefer to use. You can borrow our knives and chisels during the session. We will provide a wooden blank for each person to use during the session and take home. We have additional blanks that can be purchased on the day. A limited number of basic tool sets will be available to sell on the day too. The tools we use are sharp, so care must be taken, and we ask that you follow our instructions to ensure that you and your fellow carvers stay safe.
