Waxcap Wander

Enjoy a closer look at some colourful Waxcaps, recording them as part of NHSN's new North East Waxcaps project. About this event Join us in search of waxcaps - beautiful, colourful little fungi that are indicators of healthy, undisturbed grassland habitats. We’ll take our time exploring the sights and sounds of autumn, spotting some of the wonderful fungi that grow at Bedlington's Gallagher Park and recording key finds for NHSN’s new North East Waxcaps project. Please bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear, along with snacks and/or a flask of something warm to drink if you wish. Find out more about North East Waxcaps here.
