fiction break Autumn Meet

fiction break book club is a quarterly meet-up for people working in marketing, creative, brand and communications across Scotland. escape the brief. enjoy the story. meet the industry. This isn’t a networking event, and it’s not about talking shop. It’s a chance to step away from work, read something good, and spend time with like-minded people in a relaxed, welcoming setting. There’s no agenda beyond enjoying the story and meeting good people. 📖 Book: James - Percival Everett 📍 Location: Details of location will be shared with attendees upon confirmation 🕒 Format: see running order below - a relaxed and informal get together that has a serious risk of sore cheeks from too much laugher Everyone is welcome to order food or drinks if they wish, but there’s no expectation - just come as you are. If it sounds like your kind of thing, you’re very welcome. What to expect on the night Arrivals from 6pm - grab a drink, settle in, and meet a few new faces before we get started. From 6:30pm, we’ll kick things off with a short, guided chat about the book. We’ll then move into a pub quiz in teams. A mix of book questions (kept easy), general fiction, and a few wildcard rounds. There will be prizes - think more fun than fancy. After that, we’ll have a quick-fire round of pitches for the next book. Anyone can throw one into the mix (two minutes max), and we’ll vote on what we’re reading next. We’ll wrap the structured part of the evening around 8.30pm, but you’re very welcome to stay on, have another drink, and chat. Backed by Flourish Marketing, as part of our commitment to creating space for connection, creativity and conversation within Scotland’s marketing and creative community.
