We explore reducing building decay and damage with regular maintenance.

Full description from organizer

We will explore how to reduce decay and damage in buildings with regular maintenance Join us to learn about the practicalities of detailed and regular inspections of traditional buildings. We’ll share how a robust maintenance plan can stave off decay and expensive repairs. A networking lunch will provide those opting to purchase the in-person learning experience the opportunity to continue discussions and explore the Engine Shed. Our full-day experience includes a tour of Stirling where our team will point out a range of maintenance issues within the city. You will then return to the Engine Shed for a workshop on what you've observed and to discuss the perils of ignoring the warning signs of fabric decay. For those who cannot join us in person, a virtual ticket is available for the morning learning session. This will be hosted on Microsoft Teams, and the joining link will be sent to you a week before the event. Learning outcomes You will: 1. Understand the basic principles and practical approaches underpinning sound management of Scotland’s traditional buildings. 2. Recognise the physical and economic benefits of having a formal maintenance programme managed by qualified operatives. 3.
