QUEER GLOBAL CELEBRATION: DOCUMENTARY PREVIEW & DIGITAL ARCHIVE LAUNCH

Celebrate 2 years of Queer Global with a preview of our Oral Histories Documentary & launch of the Queer Global Digital Archive! Thursday 29th October 2026 | Doors open 6:30pm, event ends 9:00pm Cranford Community College, Hounslow FREE EVENT, REGISTRATION REQUIRED Join us to celebrate two years of Queer Global and the evolution of the project, with a preview screening of the Queer Global Oral Histories Documentary and the launch of the Queer Global Digital Archive. Over two years, Queer Global has recorded a hundred stories of LGBTQ+ Londoners from across the globe, worked with communities across the city, and documented a heritage that was at risk of being lost. Our films have reached audiences far beyond London, with videos watched and shared around the world and coverage in the international press, opening hearts and minds in places we never imagined. 🎬 SEE THE DOCUMENTARY FIRST The Queer Global Oral Histories Documentary brings together LGBTQ+ Londoners of the global majority and migrant backgrounds, drawn from a hundred interviews recorded over eighteen months. They talk about arriving in the city, coming out to their families, faith, racism both outside and inside the gay scene, the house parties, clubs and organisations they built, the campaigns they fought, and what has changed. It is told entirely in their own words. You will be among the first people to see it, before its wider release. After the screening we will ask what moved you, what worked and what felt missing, and your feedback will help shape the finished film. ▶️ THE QUEER GLOBAL DIGITAL ARCHIVE The main project is drawing to a close, but the work carries on through the Queer Global Digital Archive: our YouTube channel and Instagram page, where the interviews, stories and conversations will continue to be shared. On the night you can find out how to get involved in what we make next. We are just getting started. 🍽️ ON THE NIGHT • A preview screening of the documentary • A chance to give your feedback on the film • Refreshments provided • The launch of the Queer Global Digital Archive on YouTube and Instagram • How to get involved in future Queer Global work • An evening with contributors, supporters and the project team Content note: the documentary includes first-hand accounts of racism, homophobia, violence and family rejection. Queer Global is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players.
