Sergei Prokofiev Piano Sonatas album launch. Antonina Suhanova recital

Prokofiev’s Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Sonatas have been an important part of my musical journey I am incredibly excited to share with you A note from Antonina Suhanova: I am delighted to share that my new album, featuring Sergei Prokofiev’s Piano Sonatas Nos. 6, 7 and 8, will be released in the UK this November. To celebrate this occasion, I am very happy to invite you to a special launch recital on the 12th of November at the Razumovsky Academy. For this recital, I have chosen to present a selection of 20th-century piano repertoire surrounding Prokofiev, beginning with music by the Latvian composer Jāzeps Vītols, who was briefly Prokofiev’s professor of composition, and concluding with the 21st-century Sonatina by Sir Stephen Hough. It is a programme that reflects the rich and fascinating musical landscape of the century, with Prokofiev at its heart. Prokofiev’s Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Sonatas have been an important part of my musical journey, and I am incredibly excited to finally share my interpretation of these extraordinary works with you. My heartfelt thanks to the Razumovsky Academy for hosting this special evening. I am very much looking forward to celebrating the release of the album and sharing with you the wonderful richness and diversity of this programme on 12 November.
