Women's Freedom Dance

Get ready to move and connect with yourself without worry about others’ perceptions or pressure to perform interfering with your flow Join the Women's Freedom Dance! For women who want to connect with themselves but haven’t yet grown the confidence or trust in themselves to move freely in front of other people without worry about others’ perceptions, critical self-talk or pressure to perform interfering and messing with their flow. Take the time to connect with your body’s intelligence in the company of other women who want to do the same using music and dance. We will travel through medicinal music, whimsy, sensuality, joy (and/or tears if you need them), rhythm, drums and togetherness, setting the communal intention to move as our own bodies want to move. We will use eye masks to help us hear and respond to our body’s cues (bring your own if you have one, there will be plenty available if you don’t) and ample space to move however we feel the need to, with the option to remove them later if you, and only you choose. We will start with a choice of cacao or herbal tea and inwardly setting our own intentions, before we begin to dance – outside if the weather allows, indoors if it doesn’t. There will be refreshments and some time to pause and reflect once the dance ends. If free movement in the company of other women without the burden of other people’s eyes on you calls, come join us on Saturday 19 September 2026 5pm – 8pm. Wear something loose you can move freely in, like a dress, skirt, or if you’d prefer, sportswear and a bandana/handkerchief to swish around What to bring: Essential Yoga mat Water Good to have Eye mask if you have one A cushion or yoga block to sit on A small flannel/towel to mop your brow in case you get sweaty
