Fabric Collage and Free-motion Machine Embroidery FLORALS - MARKET WEIGHTON

Learn how to create collage layers with fabric and add free-motion machine embroidery images of delicate florals. No experience required. In this exciting session you will learn how to layer fabrics to create simple but effective backgrounds using a loose applique and fabric collage technique. You will then explore floral images to create a plan for your design and experiment with free-motion machine embroidery to create stunning floral embroidery designs. Add some optional embellishment and hand-embroidery too. Perfect for beginners, no experience required. The session will consist of: Viewing plentiful exmaples and choosig/planning your template Transferring imagery to fabric Creating collage layers using fabric s(lots to choose from) Setting up your machine and adjusting tension Practice time to explore the method Creating your artwork Plenty of source images and inspiration - although feel free to bring your own images to work from (around 7 inch diamtere max) Holly will provide you with support and guidance throughout – even if you have never done anything like this before, you will love the experimental approach. Holly has been teaching for over 15 years and can help you to create an artwork to be proud of. Session run by Thread and Press CIC, a Community Interest Company.
