Mabon and The Sacred Turning . An Autumn Equinox Evening

Gather for the autumn equinox. Take stock, let something go, plant seeds for what's next and make connections. Right about now the year stops climbing. The harvest is gathered, or nearly, and for a short while the light and the dark stand level, facing each other across the day. Mabon is the name for this pause, the point of balance before the descent. Everything that has been growing since spring is finished, and the ground is asked to lie quiet for a season. The Autumn equinox or “Mabon” as it is known, holds a balance, dark and light, the bright half of the year handing the keys to the dark half, and that same turning happens inside us, too. This is a chance to stand at your own balance point and decide, clearly and in your own time, what you carry forward into the dark and what you let the earth keep. We're gathering on the evening of Saturday 26th September to connect with the beautiful energy of the season as it turns. We'll sit together in circle, and look back at how we got here, taking honest stock of what grew this year and what didn't. Invited to drop below the noise and connect with the deeper, knowing part of yourself, you'll gain some clarity on what has run its course and let it go, and in its place choose what you're planting into the dark half of the year, so that what you want to see come the spring has somewhere to root from now. You're asked to bring and leave behind one small thing that sits in the palm of your hand. What you take with you is something else again.
