The Magical Art of Starling Murmurations

Capture the magic of murmurations above North Cave Wetlands using collagraph ink printing with Caravel Drawing. Starling murmurations are one of nature’s most extraordinary spectacles. Discover the secrets behind these mesmerising and mysterious displays and create your own interpretation of the skies above North Cave Wetlands using collagraph ink printing with local artist John Dearing. He will guide you through the steps to create your own image which you can take home. There is a small chance of seeing the mumuration at North Cave at this time of year but it is unpredicatable. Includes refreshments. Embrace your wild side - what to expect: A ccessibility and terrain The workshop will take place inside the classroom birdhide which is next to the car park. There is a ram going up to the entrance. What to bring/wear All materials are provided but please dress warmly as this event takes place inside the classroom bird hide. If you would like to walk around the reserve after the workshop sturdy footwear is always recommended. Toilets and catering There are toilets onsite but please note there is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the classroom hide. Refreshments will be provided but please feel free to bring snacks with you. The Little Butty Bus is open from 8am until 2:30pm Tuesday to Sundays. Joining us on the day Meet at the entrance to the nature reserve. Please note parking at North Cave is now via the PayByPhone app. If you are a member of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, you will have been sent a code to receive free parking - please get in touch if you have not received this. If you are not already a member of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, you will need to pay via the PayByPhone app. Charges are £3 for 2 hours or £6 all-day. This money will go back into our work driving nature's recovery in Yorkshire.
