RIAS/ICHT CPD: Conservation Theory and Accreditation

The RIAS is delighted to host the upcoming conservation accreditation applicant seminar at ICHT Office, WASPS Creative Academy, Inverness. Thurs 04 June 2026 I ICHT Office, Stephens Street Street, IV2 3JP Topic: Building conservation and heritage Hours: 1 Presenters: Fiona Sinclair, Calum Maclean and Catriona Hill (Chair) Join Inverness City Heritage Trust (ICHT)and The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) for a CPD session offering an overview of the RIAS conservation accreditation scheme. Advanced accredited architects, Fiona Sinclair, and Calum Maclean, will guide attendees through the scheme’s background, assessment criteria, the role of conservation theory in practice and the support available, including the RIAS pre-application mentoring scheme. Designed for architects looking to advance their career in conservation, the session will provide practical insights into the accreditation process, demonstrate how theory underpins confident and informed design decisions, and highlight how accreditation can enhance professional development and recognition. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of the accreditation pathway and its relevance to best practice in the care of the historic built environment.
