Fingringhoe Wild Mums

Connect with nature, each other, and your inner child at our monthly group which aims to build a safe and wild community for mums outdoors. Designed for mums with babes in arms up to pre-walking. We will wander around the reserve, providing time and space to talk and unwind, followed by a seasonal activity within the woods or at Bunkhouse. Our first session will focus on nature journaling, finding new ways to connect with nature whilst supporting your wellbeing. Did you know that we offer adult sessions every Thursday during October and November? Click here to discover more! FAQs 🎫 Who needs a ticket? This is an event for adults. All attendees will need to purchase a ticket. 📍Where do we meet? Please meet at the visitor centre cafe area. 🥾What should we wear? This will be fully outdoors, so you need to come dressed for the weather. For cooler and wetter weather we recommend layers (top and bottom), wellies or sturdy shoes and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them. For warmer weather we recommend sun cream, thin layers and a hat. Any equipment required for the activities will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own materials. 🌍Where are you? Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Centre, South Green Road, Fingringhoe, Colchester CO5 7DN. Please be aware that it is largely a single-track lane to the reserve, but there are plenty of passing spaces. 🚗Is there parking? Yes. We have a free car park plus accessible parking. There is also bike parking. 🚇Can we get to you on public transport? No, unfortunately, no public transport operates at the reserve. 🚻What facilities are there? Fingringhoe Wick Nature Discovery Centre has toilets, a shop and a café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches. 🐕‍🦺Can we bring a dog? Only assistance dogs are welcome at the reserve. ♿How accessible is the site? There is accessible parking next to the entrance to the Discovery Centre, and there is an all-terrain mobility scooter that can be borrowed if necessary. The reserve has gravel, woodland, and sandy paths with benches at numerous locations. There are some areas where the paths are narrow or require step access. Manoeuvrability is impaired in wetter conditions. Adders are on the reserve, and they are the UK's only venomous snake. Please stick to the paths and wear suitable footwear. Please do not touch them, they are shy creatures and will only bite if they feel they are in danger. Find out more about Fingringhoe here!
