FRIDAY 25th - A fabulous Full Moon reception, overlooking the river, starts the weekend at 5PM in the historic Tidemill and Art Haven with live music and installations including Digitonal and friends. (Restaurants in Whisstocks Place are doing special deals for ambient festival ticket holders) SATURDAY 26th - 10 am Ambient Chill Morning DJS and live ambient music in Whisstocks Place; Ambient Voices Workshop in the Art Haven. 2pm Ambient Label hub at St. Mary’s Church - such a success last year we just had to invite them back! 7pm Saturday evening is the annual highlight performance by Tom Rogerson and friends - special guests Talvin Singh, London ambient orchestra, Momen, Luke Abbott, Lawrence Williams just announced • SUNDAY 27th - An early morning equinox event with Emma and ambient amble busk along the river with Bards Aloud at 10am. Afternoon "Slow Sessions" in St Marys Church and our annual Ambient Showcase evening at the Angel . This year we are turning the Art Haven on Tidemill Way into a Festival Hub from Tuesday September 22nd, selling tickets and merchandise with pop ups, workshops, installations, exhibitions, information etc. leading up to, and including, the Festival Weekend of September 25th-27th. The festival is grass roots and relies on ticket sales, local sponsorship and the extreme generosity of volunteers, musicians and many performers and organisers who gift their time to make the festival affordable for the ambient and local community - a true community festival! I've been a fan of Luke since he released Holkham Drones many years ago. He was one of the first of a new wave of modular synth specialists before it became as popular as it is today. Since then he's had great success with solo records and his wonderful band Szun Waves. Luke's recently finished a new album, and hasn't been touring for a while so this is a special opportunity to see him play new material. We are also delighted to welcome back the London Ambient Orchestra who wowed us in the church 2 years ago. The group of 10 live instrumentalists make ambient-drone-classical crossover music, including their own compositions mixed with some ambient covers, and features conservatoire-trained players as well as members of the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. They've recently been collaborating with ambient piano legend, Lubomyr Melnyk. The concert will also feature Momen from London, who are a new duo consisting of Ivan Muela on electronics and piano, and Nat Phillips on saxophone and electronics. They have just released their first album, which they will be performing from. They make beautiful lush soundscapes, influenced by jazz, electronic and ambient music. Also my old friend Lawrence Williams will play his church-inspired semi-improvised pieces for saxophone and pedals. We hope to see you there." Talvin Singh has just been added!
