Woodland Trust tree pack giveaway - Mid Suffolk

Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th November 10:00- 15:00 Tree packs are back! Help us to create a resilient landscape in East Anglia’s Claylands. Sign up for a subsidised tree pack to replace lost trees on your land. Farmers and landowners in East Anglia’s Claylands can apply for up to two packs this winter. Species have been carefully selected to replace trees being lost in the landscape. Each pack contains 50 saplings- a mix of five native tree species such as Oak, Hornbeam, Crab Apple, Field Maple, and Wild Cherry. Tree protection can also be included. By planting a tree pack on your land, you’re helping to create a more resilient landscape in East Anglia’s Claylands. You can plant your trees in existing hedgerows as standards, or in clusters to create copses and pockets of trees. Just make sure you’ve checked that your site doesn’t have any special designations first, such as SSSI or County Wildlife Site. It is not normally recommended to plant trees in a species-rich meadow or a wetland site because they can already have a high biodiversity value which may be compromised by tree planting. You can check the characteristics of your planting site on MAGIC Maps. Have a question about the giveaway, or need help choosing the right pack for you?
