Improv Leeds - Expand & Grow in Leeds city centre

Welcome to improvisation for thoughtful grown-ups - free from pressure to perform, be fast, funny or clever. Come improvise comedy, drama and theatre for more confidence, joy and connection in life. This event is open-to-all, and assumes you bring a confident, intermediate or enthusiast level of improvisation. It’s for building your improv skills, stretching yourself, and growing in trust and confidence. For improv foundations: try our sister event in Headingley here. That means there’ll be friendly encouragement to explore your edges, longer, more relaxed scenes and the occasional edgier game. As always - everything is an invitation. Play at your own pace. Every game is optional and you’ll be supported throughout by a professional facilitator. You’re expected to bring a level of basic adult robustness - that means tracking yourself, your limits and general wellbeing. Please be fully in or fully out of an activity. This is a workshop, rather than a formal class or taught lesson (though we will explore improv themes and principles). What to expect Here’s what a typical 90-minute to 2-hour improv session looks like: • Welcome & introduction. • Landing & check-in. • Gentle warm-up games. • Play improv scenes (+ comfort break). • Relating games. • More improv scenes and games. • Reflection circle. • Closing ceremony. • Check-out and end.
