Tower Gates Short Film Festival: Stories in Motion

A curated selection of independent short films showcasing dynamic, physical action driven by bold storytelling and cinematic creativity. Welcome to the Tower Gates Short Film Festival, a year‑long celebration of independent filmmaking across Leicestershire. Each themed edition showcases a curated selection of short films, inviting audiences to discover new voices, bold ideas, and standout creative talent. Stories in Motion launches the festival with a programme celebrating dynamic, physical storytelling, bold journeys, and cinematic escapism driven by danger, exploration, or high‑stakes challenges. Your audience participation is central to the festival experience. After each screening, you’ll rate the films you’ve watched, with your scores contributing directly to our End‑of‑Year Tower Gates Awards. Your voice helps shape which filmmakers are recognised across the entire 2027 season. So come and mark the beginning of an exciting year of themed screenings across Leicestershire by securing your seat for Stories in Motion. Curious about what's coming next?
